Voice AI is the combination of technologies — speech recognition, language understanding, and speech synthesis — working together in real time to let a caller have an actual spoken conversation with a machine, rather than pressing numbers through a menu tree. It's the layer that lets a system understand what a caller means, not just what buttons they pressed.

How it works

Incoming audio is converted to text, a language model interprets the intent and context of what was said, and a response is generated and converted back to speech — all within a second or two, so the exchange feels like a normal back-and-forth phone call rather than a delayed, robotic one.
